Travel Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival in Dibrugarh and Transfer to Along/Aalo

Begin your enchanting journey with an arrival at Dibrugarh Railway Station or Airport, where our representative will greet you warmly. With your Arunachal Pradesh Inner Line Permit (ILP) in hand, we set off towards the Assam-Arunachal border, leaving the bustling city of Dibrugarh behind. This drive is nothing short of picturesque, offering numerous opportunities for photo stops. Don’t hesitate to ask your driver-cum-guide to pause, allowing you to soak in the fresh mountain air of Arunachal Pradesh. As the day transitions to evening, you will check into a charming homestay in Along, a small destination in itself. After a quick check-in, take a leisurely stroll around the surroundings before returning for an overnight stay.

Day 2 - Transfer from Along/Aalo to Mechuka

Following a hearty breakfast, we continue our journey towards Mechuka. As you traverse this remote region of North East India, you will soon find yourself without phone connectivity, immersing you deeper into the wilderness. The surroundings grow denser, and human settlements become sparse, with traditional stilted homes dotting the landscape. The bumpy roads and the grandeur of the Siyom River accompany you throughout the day. A highlight of the drive is the stunning Siko-Dido waterfall. By evening, you arrive at Mechuka and check into a simple yet cozy homestay, where you can warm up by the bukhari, reflecting on the day’s adventures.

Day 3 - Exploring Mechuka

After a restful night and breakfast by the kitchen fire, it’s time to explore the captivating Mechuka. Start your day with a visit to the New Gompa, a serene spot perfect for reflection. Next, embark on a relaxed hike to Mechuka-la, where every step reveals breathtaking views. At the summit, the panoramic view of Mechuka town is simply awe-inspiring. Spend some time soaking in the tranquility before visiting the quaint Dorjelling village to meet locals and learn about their way of life. A quick visit to Tsokorphu village follows. End the day by spending serene moments by the Yargapchu river, absorbing the beauty of your surroundings.

Day 4 - Exploring Mechuka

Continuing your exploration of Mechuka, start with a drive to the historic Old Gompa, a 400-year-old monastery. Engage with the caretaker to understand the rich history it guards. The trail leading to the Gompa is equally mesmerizing. From here, head to Lhalung village to witness the Old Tibet road, a path steeped in history. The next stop is the revered Mechuka Gurudwara, maintained by the Indian army, where Guru Nanak Dev Ji is believed to have meditated. After a local lunch, explore the market at your leisure, soaking in the local culture and vibes. The evening is yours to wander around and reflect on your experiences.

Day 5 - Transfer from Mechuka to Along/Aalo

After three enchanting nights in Mechuka, we commence our return journey in the morning. The early departure allows time to explore tribal villages around Aalo. Walking through these villages provides a deep insight into the local culture and a chance to interact with the residents. By evening, check into your homestay in Along, where you can relax and reminisce about the past days. Enjoy decent mobile connectivity once more, reconnecting with the outside world.

Day 6 - Transfer from Along/Aalo to Dibrugarh and Departure

On the final leg of your journey, enjoy breakfast before retracing your path to the plains of Assam. This drive is filled with memories of the serene landscapes and wonderful people you’ve encountered. Arrive in Dibrugarh, where this unforgettable trip concludes.
