Travel Itinerary
Day 1 - Guwahati Arrival and Local Sightseeing
Arrive at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station, where our representative will warmly welcome you. Begin your journey with visits to the Silk Emporium, Assam State Museum, Assam State Zoo, Balaji Temple, and Umananda Temple. Check into your hotel and freshen up. In the evening, you have the option to enjoy a Brahmaputra River Dinner Cruise at Alfresco Grand, which starts at 7:00 PM, or explore the local market.
Spend the night at your hotel in Guwahati.
Day 2 - Guwahati to Dirang
After a hearty breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to Dirang, home to the Monpa tribes of Arunachal Pradesh. En route, visit the Sessa Orchid Sanctuary and Tippi Orchid Center, where you can marvel at a variety of orchid species. Dirang, with its snow-clad Himalayan ranges, rustic charm, and spiritual ambiance, offers a perfect retreat.
Upon arrival, check into your hotel and relax in the serene surroundings. Overnight stay in Dirang.
Day 3 - Dirang to Tawang
Start your day with an early breakfast before heading to Tawang, one of Arunachal Pradesh's most popular destinations. The journey takes you through the picturesque Dirang valley and up to the breathtaking Sela Pass at 13,703 feet. Enjoy the stunning views and the serene Paradise Lake along the way. Continue your drive to Tawang, the land of the Monpa tribes and a major center of Mahayana Buddhism.
Upon arrival, check into your hotel. In the evening, visit the Craft Center and a traditional Monpa village. Overnight stay in Tawang.
Day 4 - Excursion to Bumla Pass and Tawang Local Sightseeing
After an early breakfast, embark on an excursion to Bumla Pass, located at an altitude of 15,200 feet on the Indo-China border. The journey offers spectacular views and a sense of adventure. Post-visit, return to Y-Junction and explore Maduri Lake and PTso Lake, along with a nearby Gurudwara. Back in Tawang, visit the renowned Tawang Monastery, founded in the 17th century by Mera Lama Lodre Gyaltso. Later, enjoy a short trek to Bramdungchung Ani Gompa, the oldest Ani Gompa in Tawang, nestled in a scenic mountain setting.
Conclude your day with a visit to Urgelling Monastery, the birthplace of the sixth Dalai Lama, Tsangyang Gyatso, and explore a Monpa village. Overnight stay in Tawang.
Day 5 - Tawang to Bomdila
After breakfast, drive back to Bomdila, stopping to visit the 1962 Indo-China War Memorial, dedicated to Rifleman Jaswant Singh Rawat. This memorial, located 25 km before Tawang, offers a poignant reminder of the bravery displayed during the conflict. Continue your journey to Bomdila, enjoying the stunning views of snow-clad peaks such as Kangto, Nyegi Kangsang, and Gorichen.
Upon arrival in Bomdila, check into your hotel and spend the evening at leisure. Overnight stay in Bomdila.
Day 6 - Bomdila to Kaziranga National Park
Today, after an early breakfast, depart for Kaziranga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to the largest population of one-horned rhinoceroses. This national park, situated on the floodplains of the Brahmaputra River, is also home to a significant population of tigers, wild buffalo, gaur, leopards, and various deer species.
Upon arrival, check into your hotel and enjoy the serene surroundings. Take a stroll around the resort and bask in the tranquility of nature. Overnight stay at Kaziranga.
Day 7 - Kaziranga Jungle Safari
Begin your day with an early wake-up call for the Kaziranga Elephant Safari in the Western Range. Witness the majestic one-horned rhinoceroses up close, along with other wildlife. After the elephant safari, return to your resort for breakfast.
Later, drive to the Kaziranga Central Range for a Jeep Safari, where you'll have the opportunity to see rhinos grazing, herds of elephants, and other wildlife in their natural habitat. The Central Zone offers some of the best sightings in the park.
Overnight stay at Kaziranga.
Day 8 - Kaziranga to Shillong
After breakfast, drive to Shillong, also known as the Scotland of the East. En route, visit Umium Lake, also known as Barapani Lake, and enjoy the serene views. Continue your journey to Shillong and visit the historic Golf Course, one of the oldest in India. Check into your hotel and freshen up. In the evening, explore Ward's Lake, Mary's Cathedral, All Saints' Cathedral, and Lady Hydari Park. Later, visit Police Bazar and Bara Bazar for shopping and dining.
Overnight stay in Shillong.
Day 9 - Excursion to Jowai
Post breakfast, set out for a day trip to Jowai. Visit the stunning Krangshuri Waterfalls, Tyrshi Waterfall, Nartiang Monoliths, and Durga Mandir. On your way back to Shillong, stop at the Grand Laitlum Canyon, made famous by the movie Rock On 2. In the evening, explore the local market at your leisure. Overnight stay in Shillong.
Day 10 - Day Trip to Cherrapunjee
After breakfast, head to Cherrapunjee, the second wettest place on earth. En route, visit Shillong Peak and Elephant Falls. Pass through the scenic Mawdok Dympep Valley and visit Seven Sister's Waterfall, Dainthlen Falls, Wei Sawdong Waterfall, Nohkalikai Falls, Eco Park, and Mawsmai Cave. After lunch, explore Arwah Cave before returning to Shillong for the night. Overnight stay in Shillong.
Day 11 - Shillong to Dawki and Mawlynnong Village
Today, after breakfast, travel to Dawki, the border town between India and Bangladesh. Visit the border post and enjoy a boat ride on the Umngot River, known for its crystal-clear waters.
Proceed to Mawlynnong, Asia's cleanest village, where you can stroll through the village, interact with locals, and enjoy local delicacies for lunch. Visit the Sky Bridge, a bamboo structure offering a bird's-eye view of Bangladesh, and see the Balancing Rock.
On your return to Shillong, stop at Riwai Village to see the Single Decker Living Root Bridge. Enjoy a leisurely evening in Shillong. Overnight stay in Shillong.
Day 12 - Shillong to Guwahati and Departure
After breakfast, drive back to Guwahati. If time permits, visit the Silk Emporium, Assam State Museum, Assam State Zoo, Balaji Temple, and Umananda Temple. Finally, you will be dropped off at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station for your onward journey, concluding your memorable tour of Assam and Meghalaya.
