Shillong Unplugged (5N6D)

Your journey begins as you arrive at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station. From here, a scenic drive awaits as you ascend into the cool, pine-covered hills of Meghalaya. On the way, take a photo stop at Umiam Lake, a peaceful reservoir that mirrors the sky and is surrounded by thick green hills. Continue onward to Shillong, the “Scotland of the East.” Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and spend the evening at leisure. You may explore Police Bazaar or enjoy local Khasi cuisine at a nearby café.

Overnight Stay: Shillong

After breakfast, embark on a full-day excursion to Cherrapunjee, renowned for its cascading waterfalls and caves. Begin your exploration with the awe-inspiring Nohkalikai Falls, followed by the fascinating Mawsmai Cave, where limestone formations form dramatic passageways. Enjoy valley views from Eco Park, and stop at Seven Sisters Falls, especially scenic during the monsoon season. After soaking in Cherrapunjee’s misty magic, drive back to Shillong in the evening and relax at your hotel.

Overnight Stay: Shillong

Post breakfast, head towards Mawlynnong, known as the cleanest village in Asia. Walk through its well-kept bamboo paths, visit the Balancing Rock, and climb the skywalk to enjoy panoramic views of the plains of Bangladesh. Continue your journey to Dawki, where the stunning Umngot River flows with glass-clear water. Enjoy a tranquil boat ride where the riverbed is visible even at several feet depth. Return to Shillong by evening and unwind.

Overnight Stay: Shillong

Begin the day with breakfast, then check out and proceed for local sightseeing in Shillong. Visit Shillong Peak, the highest viewpoint in the region offering a sweeping view of the city and distant valleys. Then, head to the picturesque Elephant Falls, one of Meghalaya’s most loved spots. Stop by Ward’s Lake for a relaxing walk and optionally explore Don Bosco Museum if time allows. Later, drive to Guwahati and check into your hotel by evening. If time permits, enjoy a sunset walk near the Brahmaputra Riverfront.

After breakfast, check out and proceed to Guwahati Airport or Railway Station. Based on your schedule, an optional visit to the sacred Kamakhya Temple can be included before your departure. Your Shillong Unplugged tour concludes here with memories of waterfalls, music, and mist-covered mountains.
