Travel Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival at Guwahati / Shillong – Transfer to Shillong – Police Bazaar

Upon arrival at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station, begin your scenic drive towards Shillong, the charming hill capital of Meghalaya. As you ascend into the hills, the changing landscape welcomes you with pine forests, cool breeze, and rolling valleys. En route, stop at Umiam Lake, a serene reservoir surrounded by lush greenery. Spend time enjoying the tranquil atmosphere and capturing scenic photographs.

On reaching Shillong, check in to your hotel and relax. In the evening, visit Police Bazaar, the bustling commercial heart of the city. Explore local handicrafts, woollens, souvenirs, and cafés while soaking in the vibrant yet relaxed hill-town ambiance. Overnight stay in Shillong.

Day 2 - Laitlum Canyon & Shillong Local Sightseeing

After breakfast, drive to Laitlum Canyon, one of Meghalaya’s most dramatic viewpoints. The canyon offers sweeping views of deep gorges, winding trails, and endless rolling hills. Spend time enjoying the serenity and breathtaking scenery.

Return to Shillong for local sightseeing. Visit Elephant Falls, a beautiful multi-tiered waterfall set amidst greenery. Proceed to Shillong Peak, the highest point in the city, offering panoramic views of Shillong and its surroundings. Later, enjoy a relaxing walk around Ward’s Lake and explore the cultural exhibits at Don Bosco Museum, which showcases the traditions and heritage of Northeast India. Overnight stay in Shillong.

Day 3 - Shillong to Cherrapunjee – Mawdok Valley & Waterfalls

After breakfast, check out and drive towards Cherrapunjee, famous for its dramatic cliffs and waterfalls. En route, stop at Mawdok Valley Viewpoint for spectacular valley views.

Visit Nohkalikai Falls, India’s tallest plunge waterfall, followed by Seven Sisters Falls cascading beautifully over limestone cliffs. Explore Mawsmai Cave with its natural limestone formations and continue to Arwah Caves, known for fossil imprints and fascinating rock patterns. Check in to your hotel in Cherrapunjee and enjoy a peaceful evening. Overnight stay in Cherrapunjee.

Day 4 - Double Decker Trek

After an early breakfast, proceed to Nongriat village for the Double Decker Living Root Bridge trek. Descend through forest trails and stone steps surrounded by lush greenery and flowing streams. The trek offers immersive views of Meghalaya’s raw natural beauty.

Upon reaching the Double Decker Living Root Bridge, admire the extraordinary bio-engineered structure formed by living tree roots intertwined over generations. Those with additional stamina may continue further to Rainbow Falls. After completing the trek, return to Cherrapunjee for overnight stay.

Day 5 - Cherrapunjee – Dawki – Mawlynnong – Transfer to Shillong

After breakfast, check out and drive towards Dawki near the India–Bangladesh border. Experience the crystal-clear waters of the Umngot River and enjoy an optional boat ride.

Later, visit Mawlynnong, known as one of Asia’s cleanest villages. Explore the Single Decker Living Root Bridge, climb the Bamboo Sky Walk for panoramic views, and visit the Balancing Rock. After sightseeing, proceed back to Shillong for overnight stay.

Day 6 - Shillong to Kaziranga – Scenic Countryside Drive

After breakfast, check out and drive towards Kaziranga National Park. The journey passes through scenic Assamese countryside dotted with tea gardens and small villages.

On arrival, check in to your wildlife resort and relax amidst the natural surroundings. Overnight stay near Kaziranga.

Day 7 - Kaziranga Safari – Transfer to Guwahati

Begin your day early with a jeep safari inside Kaziranga National Park, famous for the endangered one-horned rhinoceros. The safari offers opportunities to spot wild elephants, swamp deer, and diverse bird species.

After breakfast, check out and drive to Guwahati. Visit Kamakhya Temple, one of India’s most sacred Shakti Peethas, located atop Nilachal Hill with panoramic views of the Brahmaputra Valley. In the evening, you may opt for a Brahmaputra River sunset cruise. Overnight stay in Guwahati.

Day 8 - Guwahati – Departure
