Travel Itinerary
Day 1 - Guwahati to Tezpur – Heritage City Exploration
Your journey begins from Guwahati, driving towards Tezpur, one of Assam’s oldest cultural towns. The drive passes through scenic countryside, tea gardens, and river plains.
On arrival, visit Agnigarh Hill overlooking the Brahmaputra River, associated with the legend of Princess Usha. Explore Cole Park, Mahabhairav Temple, and peaceful riverfront areas before checking in to your hotel. Overnight stay in Tezpur.
Day 2 - Tezpur to Dirang via Bhalukpong, Sessa Orchid Sanctuary & Tippi Orchid Park
After breakfast, drive towards Arunachal Pradesh through Bhalukpong entry gate. As the road climbs into the mountains, forests and river valleys create beautiful scenery.
Visit Sessa Orchid Sanctuary known for wild orchids growing naturally in forest landscapes. Continue to Tippi Orchid Park beside the Kameng River showcasing exotic orchids. By evening reach Dirang, a quiet Himalayan valley town. Visit Dirang Monastery and enjoy peaceful surroundings before overnight stay in Dirang.
Day 3 - Dirang to Tawang via Sela Pass & Jung Waterfall
After breakfast, begin the scenic drive to Tawang through high Himalayan terrain. Stop at Sela Pass, one of India’s highest motorable mountain passes, and admire Sela Lake surrounded by snow peaks during winter months.
Continue to Jung Waterfall cascading down rocky cliffs and visit Jaswantgarh War Memorial dedicated to a brave soldier. By evening reach Tawang and check in to your hotel. Overnight stay in Tawang.
Day 4 - Bumla Pass – Madhuri Lake – Tawang Monastery
After an early breakfast, proceed for Bumla Pass excursion near the India–China border. A local vehicle is mandatory costing ₹5,500 per vehicle payable directly. The drive offers spectacular Himalayan scenery.
On return visit Madhuri Lake and PTso Lake. Later explore Tawang Monastery, the largest monastery in India, Urgelling Monastery, and Tawang War Memorial. Evening Light & Sound Show optional. Overnight stay in Tawang.
Day 5 - Tawang to Bomdila – Scenic Himalayan Drive
After breakfast, begin your return journey towards Bomdila through breathtaking mountain landscapes. Stop at viewpoints for photography along the way.
Arrive in Bomdila and visit Bomdila Monastery known for peaceful surroundings and panoramic Himalayan views. Explore local markets before checking in to your hotel. Overnight stay in Bomdila.
Day 6 - Bomdila to Kaziranga – Tea Garden Landscapes
After breakfast, drive towards Kaziranga National Park through scenic valleys and tea garden countryside. On arrival check in to your wildlife resort.
Spend the evening relaxing amidst nature. Overnight stay near Kaziranga.
Day 7 - Kaziranga Safari – Transfer to Guwahati
Begin early morning jeep safari inside Kaziranga National Park, famous for the endangered one-horned rhinoceros along with wild elephants and swamp deer.
After breakfast, drive back to Guwahati. Visit Kamakhya Temple if time permits, followed by transfer to hotel. Overnight stay in Guwahati.
Day 8 - Morning Jeep Safari – Transfer to Guwahati – Departure
Start your day early with a final jeep safari inside Kaziranga National Park, offering one more opportunity to spot the iconic one-horned rhinoceros, wild elephants, swamp deer, and rich birdlife in their natural habitat.
After returning to the resort for breakfast, check out and begin your scenic drive back to Guwahati. The journey passes through Assamese countryside, tea gardens, and small villages. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to Guwahati Airport or Railway Station for your onward journey, concluding your memorable Northeast India tour.
